to the area

Option 1:

Step 1 Fly to Paris: We expect that most of our guests will find it easiest to fly in and out of Paris. Several airlines are running deals on nonstop flights from LA and NY right now so try to book soon!

Step 2 Take the Train to Bordeaux: France’s high-speed rail line, the TGV, offers trips to the Bordeaux train station, Bordeaux Saint-Jean, multiple times a day. It takes roughly two hours and costs between 70-90€. Tickets are available online here. There’s plenty to see in Bordeaux so you might consider hanging around for a day or two before continuing on to the venue.

Step 3 Train or Drive to Sarlat: From Bordeaux, you can take either a direct train or drive to the Dordogne area. The train takes just over 2 hours to get to Sarlat-la-Canéda, a famous town near the Chateau. It’s a cheap and beautiful ride. Renting a car will cost more (and the drive is 15 minutes longer), but it may be worth it so you can stop at sites along the way and enjoy transportation during your stay. Rental cars are available at the train station, as well as the Bordeaux airport.

Option 2:

Step 1 Fly to Bergerac: If you’d rather skip Paris, a number of EU airports—including London, Rotterdam, and Lyon—offer flights to Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport, which is fairly close to the venue. Flights from London take 1h 45m and may cost less than $100 roundtrip, depending on your specific dates.

Step 2 Train or Drive to Sarlat: From Bergerac, it’s a 1 hr train or a 1 hr 15m drive to Sarlat. The train is inexpensive (20€) and runs regularly, but a car will give you some flexibility. The usual rental companies (e.g., Enterprise, Sixt) have kiosks at the airport. But, it’s a smaller town than Bordeaux, so you should book online soon if you choose this route.

Option 3:

Step 1 Fly to Bordeaux: Flying to Bordeaux is another good option depending where you’re coming from.

Step 2 Train or Drive to Sarlat (see Option 1 above)
